Tastes and Preferences of the Contemporary Russian Art Market

The book “Tastes and Preferences of the Contemporary Russian Art Market” has not been preserved in our collection, but photocopies of pages featuring reproductions of my father’s works have survived. The image quality leaves something to be desired — and yet, even so, I think his works are beautiful.

Golden Brush — Golden Pen

Following the jubilee exhibition of 2000, it was decided to hold exhibitions in different cities (the “Golden Brush” of 2004, for example, took place in Sochi). I remember that participation in such an exhibition was considered an honour.

By some miracle the magazines in which my father’s works were published have survived at home. I decided to digitise them so that they will certainly be preserved. I hope they will be — in our unstable age of change.

Stolitsa Magazine

The other day I was sorting through archival papers to make room in the bookcase. Among a pile of unwanted clutter I unearthed copies of pages from the journal Stolitsa (“The Capital”) for 1991.

Stanislav Skobelev’s work appears on the covers of two issues.

It occurred to me that it would be wonderful to find the archived issues — and I found them. By time machine, one can travel back 34 years and read about the life and themes of that era, its trends and perspectives:
